Family Therapy

Finding solutions together

Family therapy views the family as a system in which all members are connected. Changes in one family member affect all others. This systemic view opens up new possibilities for positive change.

The Systemic Approach

In family therapy, we work with the entire family or parts of it. We look at patterns, roles and communication styles that have developed over time.

Often it turns out that "problem behavior" of one family member is actually a symptom of deeper dynamics. When we understand these, we can initiate lasting change.

Methods and Techniques

I use various methods such as genogram work (family tree), sculpture work, circular questioning and reframing. These techniques make family dynamics visible and tangible.

Sometimes I also work with subgroups of the family or with individuals, always with a view to the larger system.

Benefits

  • Better understanding of family connections
  • Improved communication between family members
  • Clarification of roles and boundaries
  • Resolution of generational conflicts
  • Support during transitions (separation, blended families, puberty)

For which families?

  • Families with communication problems or frequent conflicts
  • Parents seeking support with parenting
  • Families in transition phases (separation, new partners, children moving out)
  • Blended families wanting to grow together
  • Families where one member shows particular challenges
